Childcare Paralegal / Advisor - Bedford or Northampton

Vacancy to join our well established Lexcel accredited firm, in our well established and approachable Care team.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist Lawyers with public children casework, including a range of matters: child protection issues and special guardianship.
  • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases.
  • Dealing with correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate time costings.
  • Preparing draft documents including witness statements and processing evidence. 
  • Attending conferences, Court and PLO meetings.
  • Representing clients at hearings or working towards conducting own advocacy.
  • Ensuring compliance with file management.

Key Skills Required: 

  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of publically funded Child Care.
  • A strong academic background with a Law qualification.
  • At least one years legal experience as a Child Care Paralegal/Advisor.
  • Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance.
  • Committed team player, self -motivated and professional.
  • Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management .skills. Ability to work in a paperless environment.
  • Able to work in a paperless environment.

Details:

  • Location: Bedford or Northampton offices
  • We offer a work-life balance, flexibility including hybrid working.
  • Full time role, hours 9:00 – 5:15
  • 26 days holiday + BHs.
  • Attractive salary dependent on experience.
  • Annual bonus related to achievement of fee income targets
