HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) team within the Education Law department. This role is designed for individuals who are committed to advocating for the rights of students and families navigating the complexities of education law.
As a Legal Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with inquiries related to SEN and educational rights.
- Providing updates to clients and keeping track of case progress.
- Opening and closing files while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards.
- Conducting legal research on SEN policies and related legislation.
- Drafting legal documents, letters, and correspondence for client cases.
- Supporting solicitors in preparing cases for hearings and tribunals.
- Maintaining accurate case management systems and documentation.
- Performing general administrative duties including managing calendars and scheduling meetings.
- Providing reception cover when required.
Requirements:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A keen interest or experience in education law, particularly relating to SEN.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting documents.
