Paralegal - Litigation - Walsall

HCB Solicitors Limited are currently looking for an ambitious LPC graduate to work as a Paralegal within our Litigation team.  

Following the relevant legislation and policies will be a key part of the role so you will need a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, Solicitors Regulation Authority policies and procedures and other relevant codes of practice. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
  • Draft pleadings, statements of case and pre-issue documentation and file with the court as appropriate
  • Perform administrative duties (comply and adhere to deadlines, organise case files, manage files etc)
  • Organise exhibits, documents, evidence, and briefs 
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise with internal/external third parties
  • Provide assistance with larger claims undertaken by senior solicitors

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will bring with them/be:

  • At least one years experience working within a similar role (this is desirable although not essential)
  • Great communication skills and an ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work under time constraints and prioritise work load
  • Able to handle sensitive matters discreetly
  • Good organisation skills with a methodical approach
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Deliver excellent service to clients and colleagues
