Legal Assistant - Criminal Law - Evesham

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well organised Legal Assistant to join our friendly, well established and approachable Criminal Law team in Evesham.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with new enquiries, initiating and completing the setup of new matters, to include all onboarding and due diligent processes, such as identification verification and complying with anti-money laundering regulations. 
  • Organising, e-filing and scanning documents into our Case Management System whilst also maintaining the paper files with accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Opening and archiving all paper and electronic files. 
  • Dealing with routine client correspondence and queries. 
  • Attending to clients both in person and on the telephone in a confident manner with excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high level of customer care. 
  • Dealing with third party agencies, to include Counsel, Courts, Experts and other solicitors.  
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of the client and firm’s information and documentation at all times.
  • Fully conversant with Word, Outlook and Excel with experience of working with electronic Case Management Systems. 
  • Supporting the general administration within the Criminal Law Team and Evesham office. 
  • Attending Court and Prisons
  • Preparing case files and specific case documents 
  • Advocacy in certain areas

Requirements for this role include:

  • Basic knowledge of Criminal Law and money laundering obligations although training will be provided
  • Familiarity with electronic search databases
  • An ability to deal with sensitive issues in a supportive manner
  • Being familiar with developments in the criminal law
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
