Criminal Law Solicitor - Evesham

This is an exciting opportunity for an accredited Criminal Duty Solicitor, preferably with higher rights of audience, to join our busy team. Attending clients at police stations and the courts throughout the area and managing a varied caseload of criminal matters up to trial, the successful Solicitor will become part of an established, specialist team.

Applicants must hold the CLAS (crime duty) accreditation and higher rights of audience will be looked on favorably. The successful applicant must be able to work with little to no supervision.
 

Candidates must have excellent client care and communication skills across all levels and possess a client focused approach to providing legal advice.   • Duty Solicitor Status would be an advantage but not essential
  • Police Station Qualification essential
  • Ability to conduct Magistrates Court trials
  • Higher Rights would be an advantage but not essential
  • Have a good academic background.
  • Preparing criminal defence cases
  • Managing a busy case load
  • Advising clients at the police station, Magistrates’ and/or Crown Court. 
  • Preparing appeals to higher courts as needed
  • Participating in the out of hours Rota scheme
  • Building an own client following
  • Preparing and managing legal aid and private client criminal defence cases
  • Working individually or as part of a team as necessary
  • Have a genuine interest in working in criminal defence law
  • Will have the ability to demonstrate good client relationship building skills
  • Commitment to providing access to justice to all
