National expansion continues for HCB
HCB has continued its national expansion programme with the acquisition of a legal practice with offices in Northampton and Bedford.
Park Woodfine Heald Mellows specialises in commercial, family, property, personal injury, medical accident and charity law, as well as wills, trusts and probate law.
Formed in 2007 when the law firms of Park Woodfine in Northamptonshire and Bedford merged with Heald Mellows also in Bedford. The company will be known as HCB Park Woodfine.
HCB chief executive Mike Gahan said: "Our latest acquisition, while filling a gap between our Midlands and South East operations, brings on board a well-respected team of lawyers who have great knowledge of the communities in and around Northampton and Bedford.
"The structure of this further acquisition has not led to any borrowings and HCB remains debt free and financially stronger."
Rae Levene, Park Woodfine Heald Mellows managing partner, added: "The new firm will be extraordinary in culture and depth of knowledge with practice strengths that are highly complementary and will enable us to provide a new and broader set of legal services."
HCB Solicitors started out six years ago as a one-office firm. It now employs about 200 lawyers across 18 bases stretching from Lancashire to the West and East Midlands through Northampton to Tunbridge Wells and the centre of London.
